The federal govt obviously doesn't work for us. That's taxation without representation! Pretty sure wars have been fought over that... I would gladly move to Texas and even pay extra in state taxes if they did that.

Just make "Sanctuary [whatever]" for ANYTHING we don't like from the Federal government.
That's how it worked in other States, with Sanctuary cities.
Tax sanctuary cities, companies don't need to report income from their employees, and employees don't need to pay taxes.
How are they going to figure out the whole "net" if everyone in a State reports nothing?
