Here's what I dont understand - hoping someone can help me.

The OP seems to be saying to my untrained mind that as disease prevalence decreases, the likelihood of getting a false positive increases.

Assuming this to be correct, why is it that the false positive rate in Australia is so low? We have tens of thousands of tests per day and barely any positives.
