I’m 49 years old. I’m not old, but I’ve raised 4 kids. I see patterns now. In college I was a liberal, then I was too busy to care, but now I’m conservative despite the fact that I haven’t changed too much. In college I liked Noam Chomsky, I listened to Rage Against the Machine.... I was a liberal.
But the funny thing is, if you reread Noam’s book on Media, how can you stand the modern media and big tech being the “ministry of truth”. That shit stinks. It’s dirty. Any old fashioned liberal like myself should be ashamed of themselves for supporting the censorship and manipulation of our modern media.
Next.... I still love Rage Against The Machine (even though they are commies). But the irony here is that the “system” they rail against is what drives the hatred of Trump. How can you not see that the FUCKING establishment hates Trump and loves Biden?!? Are these people fucking dense!!!!

I haven’t been a leftist since I was 25, but even before then I opposed communism and was more sympathetic to libertarianism. I noticed qualified men getting turned down for jobs due to hiring quotas for not very qualified women.
At age 25 I finally got out of the crappy college town and started talking to people about economics and other stuff and found that the democrats had caused a lot of destruction by blindly playing politics without regard for real world consequences.
But these days it shouldn’t be so difficult to figure out that something is wrong. The “liberals” are not following modern liberalism (which is basically classical liberalism + New Deal welfare stuff) anymore. They’re authoritarian hybrids of economic globalist versions of fascists and social Marxists.
The alliance is between the economic elite who want unrestricted economic globalization, and an urban population of social marxists (critical race theory, etc) who want “socialism” in the form of state capitalism directed at social welfare policy. Both have no problem with authoritarianism used to achieve their goals; they are not liberal. They are authoritarian collectivists who think in terms of using force to achieve collectivist goals while disregarding individual rights.
We still have a bunch of people on the left who haven’t woken up to the degree and seriousness of authoritarian tactics in use and don’t know how much danger they’re in. We need to show the pre-2008 liberals out there that haven’t been paying attention that the left is no longer liberal and is now resorting to authoritarian tactics of all sorts.
