Its a CIA op that took over CNN back in the day's of the Iraq wars as Saddam Hussein was said to get most of his intel data from the news media. The CIA then started a project to co-opt the media to manipulate the news by inserting its own war correspondents. Pretty much all war corespondents have operated under the instructions of Mockingbird, Anderson Cooper is a good example.
