No, they don't. You keep saying this as if it's fact but it's not. If Trump forms a new party, will you support him? It's a yes or no question, I don't need a summation or a half-dozen links and a history lesson. Simple, yes or no...
If Donald Trump forms a new party based completely on the Make America Great Again platform, will you support and vote for him and those in that party?
DJT shortened (for better branding and for trademarking) Ronald Reagan's 1980 Let's Make American Great Again"
MAGA Party is the Republican Party.
The Republican Party is the party based completely on the Make America Great Again Platform.
Other than the neo-con Bushes; the entire history of the Republican Party is MAGA. No foreign wars. Put tarrifs up. Law & Order. Domestic manufacturing. Lower Taxes. Less Government. Strong US Dollar. Against immorality. For Families. For personal responsibility. For private business (not gov takeovers). Extreme vetting not mass importation of slaves or serfs or illegals or America-haters, only come in legally and who love America & Americans. Strong borders. For Manifest Destiny. Against marxism/communism. etc etc etc.
Republicans believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the democrats believe every day is April 15." β Ronald Reagan
...
All this 3rd party shit is childish foolishness and extremely deadly since it's exactly what the Lefties want/need to take REAL 100% power over everything. Nothing would give the commies in the whole world a better win than to break the Republican Party, why do you think they pour their global commie kin resources into the Dem party and this propaganda all over the DOM atm about this 3rd party shit; and all the absolutely crap traps which have let so many Pedes into thinking the problem is with the Republican Party. DUDE we JUST WON EPIC LANDSLIDES INCLUDING 410+ ELECTORS!!!!!!!! The problem isn't with the Republican Party, it's with the cheating Dems and the 3rd branch of Gov not doing it's job. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashwander_rules
Right, so you didn't answer the question and gave me a bunch of nonsense instead. Got it. May I infer that you would then oppose a Trump-led third party and vote Republican against such a candidate instead?
Out of the current or even previous U.S. Senate, which legislators make up the 90% that are with us? If you can't do that, what about the U.S. House of Representatives? I realize the latter would mean listing a lot of names, so maybe we can try Red State Senates or Houses then? Pick a state, list me the 90% who are actually MAGA and not just GOP toeing the line while Trump was in power. You do realize that the MAGA agenda was different than the GOP agenda of 2015, 2104, 2013, etc., right?
If you're going to throw out statistics, show me the math you're using behind it. Otherwise, that 90-95% statement is nothing more than hyperbole.
Trump already has the votes and support to lead from within the Republican Party. Trump never went in and cleaned it up; just as he never went into the DOJ and FIB to clean them up either; or the WH hiring process; or the WH Press Corps; etc.
If Trump wants to lead the Republican Party he can, including right this day. Did he ever say, "hey we need thousands of you to fill up the empty Precinct Chairs which are vacant in the Republican Party so we can get the swamp creatures out". Or again something as absolutely politically basic when it comes to "a political party" is "the (policy) platform". It's rather very simple and yet this last year's 'Convention' didn't even have "a platform", like the "Build the Wall, Lock Her Up, Drain the Swamp, etc."
Not doing these basic things in the Republican Party, and yet starting a 3rd party would required doing these things and a WHOLE lot more. Again, if a person doesn't mow their lawn, moving to a new house solves the problem for a short while, but that lawn is going to need mowing too. Got to learn to and have the time/money to do the chores: mow, take out the trash, do repairs, etc. in addition to the "fancy stuff" like having dinner parties(fundraising).
We all know that Trump has gotten some very bad advice over the years; and if creating a 3rd party is on that list, it is right at the top of the list. At least 10-40% of Republicans and Trump supporters know about Bull Moose; and will see the foolishness and bad advice, and wont switch; this would leave the Dems in full power including in State Legislatures. It's like the trap on the 6th, or not cleaning up the FIB(muh special prosecutor); at least half the people will see the Dem/Leftie trap coming.
I'm still waiting for a list of at least 90% of elected Republicans in any body that are MAGA-first Until you furnish that, all you're doing is spitting hyperbole while cheerleading for the GOP.
Okay I found some of your past questions here on this comment of yours.
1.) There generally aren't enough candidates to fill up all the contests even in 2020; this is part of the "leadership gap" I talk about. When a bunch of "new to politics no names" fill a ballot, it dilutes the vote totals significantly for each; thus this would hand Dems wins in many contests at the local and State Level (as it did with T.R. and FDR and 1992 with Ross Perot in the ballot cycles.)
2.) The 90%+ i'm talking about is THE PARTY as in American citizens like myself; not the office holders. There is a lag, like an automatic transmission that slips; between what the "voters" in a/the Party want, and the "officeholders" do. This is how our Republic is designed, we are NOT a Democracy. So the amount of time, money, pressing the flesh, etc with voters as a candidate, it takes usually a few election cycles for a "new" candidate to have enough name recognition/support to win their jurisdiction. So even like 1980 Reagan Landslide, there was members elected to congress on his coattails, but they weren't (yet) Reagan MAGA supporters per se.
This lag can be sped up by doing things like "the platform" to build some concensus around what to do (goals and means to achieve them); and other things like leadership & candidate training.
There's been VERY little leadership & candidate training these DJT years, and there was zero Platform at the 2020 convention! These are the exact things which HAVE to get done to have a sucessful party at the ballot box and in governing.
3.) DJT created his 2015/6 list of promises based on (having some of his staff) to do research before he even announced his run. He had them listen to talk radio, forums, news, etc and listen to not what the guest/host/anchor was saying; but to take notes on what the comments by callers/republican public was saying; and present it to him in summarized reports. So DJT knew where the majority of the Republican Party voters (and American People) were on issues like immigration, the wall, etc. These positions didn't always (usually not) sit with existing elected officials at any level; since obviously most of them help create/perpetuate/ignore the problem(s) in the first-place.
4.) So where any group of Legislatures that thinks for themselves is going to be different. This is different than how mob-boss type "leaders" run the Speakership in the House, or Senate, or their Statehouses. The type that looks for yes-men/women to fill up seats (usually with fraudulent elections) and pass tons of "laws/bills" like say FDR era in spades or W.Wilson, or in places like CA where the Dems have cheated their way to a supermajority to pass whatever "laws" they wanted no matter how evil and unconstitutional they are.
5.) Creating new parties doesn't solve any of the above at all; that's just not how parties or politics or our Republic works. Remember 99% of these "problems" our country faces is because the US Constitution is (intentionally) being ignored or violated in the first place. Repealing a whole bunch of laws/regs/rules would "solve" nearly all these problems.
No, they don't. You keep saying this as if it's fact but it's not. If Trump forms a new party, will you support him? It's a yes or no question, I don't need a summation or a half-dozen links and a history lesson. Simple, yes or no...
