1 word really

CHYNA

Australia has exactly the same issues as you do when it comes to Chyna. However, because of our small size, those issues are amplified 100 fold, and we are 5-10 years ahead of the USA in terms of the problem. Add in Geography + Resources + Population, and our Chyna problems are unique.

We have our own elections of course, but because of the Elephant in the room, the outcomes of the US election may have more impact on the bigger issue for us than our own Federal elections.

It doesnt help that we have had a string of weak State Governments that, thinking the future was always looking good, made a lot of poor decisions and sold out the farm in many ways. Basically destroyed manufacturing, university education and food production here to gamble on the property market instead. Not good, but nothing we cant fix.

Its kind of Life and Death to us if things go pear shaped in our region. We can stand independently for a long time - no probs, and our forces pack a punch out of proportion to our size - no probs. But none of that is a substitute for being under the wing of a reliable superpower Ally.

Take away that reliable ally, and it may look like South Africa all over again - substitute ANC for CCP, and you get the picture.

We have had a relatively good run with the coof too - but that means nothing if there is another real and tangible threat that could literally wipe us out if it decided to.

So if you notice a lot of chatter from Aussie pedes - its not for entertainment, its because the stakes really are high for us. We are not under any illusions about what the worst case scenarios may look like, and have been prepping accordingly for a while now.

Some short vids that might paint the picture of the Chyna problem for us leading up to today. This powder key goes back a long time before even the 2016 elections.

This has been building up for while, and we have made a lot of stupid strategic mistakes up to now which haven't helped at all. Thats our own fault.

Things have changed. Its serious business for us, we are not fucking around anymore. We hope the US will be there with us, but can't necessarily count on it any more, thanks to the Nov 2020 debacle.

Will have to wait it out and see. We will be watching and analysing every little thing that happens up North, down to the millimeter, and down to the microsecond.

Hope nothing major happens for the next 4 years, will see how we go.

PS: If you bring up the 2A thing and talk about how the people here are disarmed ... ummm ... yeah OK. It doesnt really work like that here. We have a good system in place here and it works extremely well for our needs. Access to firearms is not a problem. Its not about that though - Our real strategic issues are about logistics, distance, communication, fuel, machinery, medicines, food and water. No amount of individual firepower fixes those issues, so its not the same thing at all.

What is Turnbull's problem? I saw a piece on him trashing Trump.

Malcolm Turncoat might rank amongst the best Labor Prime Ministers this country's ever had. Unfortunately, he led the Liberal Party.

There's that and also the Aussie tendency to import whatever social justice causes and moral posturing that is vogue in the USA.

This is a good post. I think the stakes were high for the entire Pacific. China's action for in the coming weeks are going to be telling.
