yep, totally agree. Use the best quality water you can buy too, it helps.

sidenote: if the alcohol is also of a high quality, mixing it with water can actually give a nice taste. I've found this to be true with vodka and whiskey, don't know about other alcohols, but something I haven't had in a long while might work too, amaretto. Interestingly, I absolutely detest Jager, but enjoy amaretto.

Go figure.
