Would building our own national Patriot Credit Union help buffer us a bit from being denied from banks?

I don't know how to do it, but I would love to pitch in to start one and bank with other patriots if it would be useful.

I don't know, I don't really know how it all works, just thought I would throw it out for discussion into alternatives. I am currently at a credit union that I like, but I have no idea how this will play out with regular banks and then credit unions.

Maybe we have to take our chances? Was money insured before FICO? Was it just backed by gold?
