Not sure if they take anyone. I think they have a certain group of people they pick from. In my voting location (heavy blue district) some poll workers barely spoke English (they were of Chinese origin).
Edit: my entire family and many people we know volunteered but were not selected as poll workers. Not a large sample but makes one think....

I too think it's going to work like in John Carpenter's "They Live". You can register as whatever, but only the pre approved people will be chosen for such critical tasks like counting the votes.

Of course, law enforcement, courts, certification boards, etc. were all cucked, so nothing came of it. But by and large, the Republican poll watchers seem to have done the best job they were able to do; it’s just that the entire rest of the system was fucked.
Register as Democrat. Vote for "NEW" Republicans/Patriots. Volunteer to count ballot or as a poll watcher.
