Not sure if they take anyone. I think they have a certain group of people they pick from. In my voting location (heavy blue district) some poll workers barely spoke English (they were of Chinese origin).
Edit: my entire family and many people we know volunteered but were not selected as poll workers. Not a large sample but makes one think....
there were a bunch of suspiciously predominantly east asian people driving those vans and trucks to the precinct HQs at midnight to 4AM on the morning of 11/4.
how the fuck do our people get those type of jobs? the 'couriers' that flew in from china.
