What have they done, other than follow orders for foreign wars that we shouldn't even be involved in?

The Modern military doesn't defend our Constitution, we have freedom of speech zones, our second amendment has already been destroyed, and the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendments no longer matter due to the patriot act, so tell me, where have they defended the Constitution, which is their first duty?

The ones who do stand up to defend it get fired pretty quick. Only the most putrid creme rises to the top, it seems.

The rank-and-file are good dudes, but they're kept in the dark, and trained(almost brainwashed) to follow order and the CoC.

It would take quite a few mid-ranking officer with a lot of clout with his men, and men of other units/brigades/whatever, to stand up to the brass, and even then, they'll probably still be fired.

At least that's what I think. I don't really know what it's like being in the military. I have 2 best friends that are/were in the military, and a bro who was a drill instructor in the Marines, and I live near a military base, so I'm not completely ignorant, but I've never been in the military, so, I'll acknowledge my opinion on this isn't worth much.... Why the fuck did I just spend all this time typing this out, when my opinion didn't mean shit?...

Ahh fuck it, I'm just gonna post it anyways!

Fucks given = 0!

To be fair, while I grew up in a home with military, I haven't been in it either myself, so my opinion really means about as much as yours does at this point. I did also live near Nellis before moving back home, so there's that as well.

Having said that, there's plenty more of the rank and file than there are generals, and if the generals are violating their oaths, then that's considered treason.

That's exactly why I think mid-level officers (Captains, Majors, or perhaps even a Colonel) who have the trust and adoration of their men, are the real last line of defense against corrupt military brass, not rank-and-file.
