I don't know where this is going. I'm sure someone with a CIA background probably has a good idea of how this plays out but I have a feeling I don't want to hear the answer.
So yea it doesn’t work out too well and the CIA already knows this. The whole “global jihad” movement in Islam was started by afghan mujahideen propagandist Abdullah Yusuf Azzam who was supported by the CIA during the Soviet-Afghan war. Jihad was just great when it was jihad against the soviets.
Then that war was over and Azzam decided that Muslims should go full jihad globally on the kuffar. Someone, probably the CIA, tries to shut this down by assassinating him but it’s too late. Osama bin Laden picked up the torch of global jihad and it spread.
(Jihad existed in Islam prior to that of course, since the beginning actually, but Muslims had just kind of forgotten about it outside of local conflicts until Azzam started promoting “all jihad all the time”.)

If I had to take a wild guess, it looks like some seasoned vets at the CIA who knew what they were doing planned all of it. These groups are not the thing. It's the thing to get them to the thing they desire or, the desires of someone higher which is likely the case. Only true way to kill this thing is find that person and eliminate them. Going the be difficult though because these fuckers are set up deep inside our own castle.
