Theory- Biden never campaigned because he was told at the beginning that Harris was the pick. He saw she had 2% approval and was cross they still wanted her instead of him when he’s been trying to get this gig for 47 years.

If this is true, he may not ‘get an illness’ and resign, he may try to stay alive for the full 4 full years. It will be a great opportunity for Trump to get his party organised as he will be a lot more consistent than an elderly, barely functioning Biden with a conniving Harris breathing down his neck waiting for him to die so she can take over. If that happens, she will start undermining him to try to gain support and it will fracture the party.
