As a working class Brit born in 1957 in an east end of London slum (so much for white privilege) we revered Churchill or rather our parents and Grandparents did. One of my earliest memories is of being sent (age 6 yrs) to the local Woolworths to buy a cheap bust of Churchill which my Dad put on the mantlepiece above the fire in time for his funeral. He was a crazy SOB (Churchill not Dad) but he had the ingredient needed to rally the people to fight (real not imagined) Nazi's. 45 was your Churchill and dumped on post office exactly like Churchill and I can see him like Churchill coming back into office once voters realise how good they had it under him. God bless America!!!

American experiment will never fail as long as I have my rifle. They can't stop progress, only slow it down. Even the most restrictive covid shutdowns barely blipped on the market. There are no brakes on this train.

Fun fact: Biden just threw Winston Churchill's bust at the Whitehouse into the trash bin and replaced it with a bust César Chávez.

Is America even worth saving when half the people don't even believe in our values, institutions, history. At this point even WE have lost faith in our institutions. I don't even know HOW we save it, what exactly are we saving?

Where are you going to run to? The 74+ million people who voted are worth saving. You're, understandably, focused on the negatives. Take a little break and refocus, you'll feel better I promise.
