You know... world peace wouldn't be that hard to accomplish if we had actual human beings in charge of things.
I know you're being hyperbolic since world peace is impossible (unless under a global tyrannical government - but the security of peace is not worth the total loss of liberty), but the problem is governments, not that we don't have moral people in power.
Power often draws the worst of us in, and corrupts the rest. And nothing is as powerful as entities with a monopoly on force. Power from wealth pales in comparison to power from government, it's why companies lobby (bribe) politicians.
