Careful here. If they open up a convention of the states, everything is on the table including 2A. The swamp would likely pull a mass shooting, air the shit out of it and then demand removal of 2A or at least a feature which would do the same. These things are dangerous and shouldn't be pulled lightly.
Convention of states can only be called for specific, pre-determined reasons. The reason for this, and it's been underway for years, is Term Limits.
They can't just modify the constitution willy nilly. It doesn't work that way. You need over 30 states just to discuss an issue, and to ratify a change you need 38. If you're seriously worried that every red state is going to remove the second amendment then you need to put down whatever you're smoking.
Amendments still have to be ratified by 38 states. Can you name 38 states that want to get rid of the 2nd amendment or the constitution completely? I think you might find about 10 if you're lucky...
While I agree that it's unlikely for a runaway convention to ever succeed given the checks put in place, after watching the past 4 years happen I feel like anything could happen. At the end of the day though it might be the best option - if they're going to disregard what's already in place, what would it hurt to add some more and see if it can swing things?

You think 38 states will agree to get rid of 2a? Red states make up at least half, that makes me prettt comfortable with the whole idea.

This is simply not true. Educate yourself.
