For instance USPS First-Class Mail is the cheapest option out there (when comparing rates without service contracts) for packages <16 oz and all USPS services are airmail services (unless you explicitly pay for "ground" mail) so stuff often gets to you quicker than, say, UPS Ground, which is all ground. And then there's Amazon, which is (likely) also an all-ground service, or very slow for free shipping, in my experience
