The main reason? Consent decrees.

Did some GOP leader sign a consent decree 40 years ago? Oops, too bad, the GOP in that state isn't allowed to do a damned thing to try to protect election integrity.

New party, none of that bullshit, of suddenly discovering the uniparty sold you out before you were born.

Yep. They burned it to the ground, there's nothing left to rebuild.

I'm all for a Trump-led party. But can we get a coordinated effort across the US to ensure election integrity or we're going to experience the same thing as this election. Getting wiped out because our vote is disenfranchised.

Agree, getting rid of the republican party and fixing election integrity need to go hand-in-hand.

This should be everyone's top priority.

Since you asked, I say level it. The entrenched republicans will have too much influence in a re-vamp and we’re likely to end up with nothing but a polished turd that still stinks to high heaven.

Scratch. The biggest mistake we made was letting the demonrat party back into the union. We don't need to make the same mistake twice. All current corrupted politicians need to go. You can no longer hold an office.

Starting a new party makes us the king-makers.

July_1776 5 points ago +5 / -0

this is what i'm wondering too...

I'm certain that they're considering this from all angles and considering rebuilding the existing party, or starting a new one.

I suspect they're going for the latter.

He starts the Patriot Party, 75 million of us switch affiliation, republican party is literally dead at that point, gone.

How often in history is there an opportunity to do this?

EVEN IF we don't win the next election (Which I think we will), if we still end up destroying an entire party and changing our country forever, that's amazing!

75 million will not switch. Not even all 600,000 who frequent this site will switch. A third party will get at most 1/3 of any vote if Trump himself ran, probably more like 15% if anyone else ran. A new party will destroy the GOP, however.

And for the thrill of revenge you are craving, Democrats will win a supermajority in every state where the new party fields candidates. But you’ll be satisfied because you got your revenge on the GOP.

This country’s laws tilt toward a 2 party system. Those laws will be strengthened. All levels of government will be weaponized, as will most of the banking and business community, to thwart a third party. It will be even easier to isolate all involved.

Recall how angry people here were that Libertarians took 1.4% of the vote away from Trump in key states? Well, the Patriot Party will do an even better job of keeping great candidates like John James from succeeding.

Reforming the GOP through the primary system is the fastest and most rational way forward. Especially for 2022.

well thought out, I think you could be right.

I claim to know nothing with any certainty.

We'll see what happens, though.

The credible threat of a 3rd party provides meaningful leverage to an individual who is predisposed to winning negotiations. DO you know anyone like that?

1
MusicToMyEars 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes. As a threat. In my opinion, not a good (effective) reality, however. Therefore, not something to pin hopes on. I’d rather focus on lawsuits to expose election fraud and laws not followed, primaries, exposing the illegitimate regime’s lies and coercive actions, continuing the GOP reformation, challenging Biden’s EOs, etc. Trump’s endorsements will be worth gold, the threat of a new Party can wait until after 2022.

Revenge is not a helpful motivation, unless it is combined with America First strategies and coalitions of MAGA legislators.

He should have done that with the country so we could get back to the roots of our Constitution 😒

Very astute observation.

If it's possible to co-opt it and remove the RINOs, then possibly. But I dont think it is. AND they would ALL have to go. As a wise man once said...

"When once a Republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil."

Destroy it.

MusicToMyEars 1 point ago +1 / -0

For 2022: renovate. Use the energy to primary all RINOs. It’s the fastest way to change the momentum. GOP needs to win the house and senate back then reform election laws. It’s the only way forward.

The Patriot Party should be founded, yes. But like the Constitution Party often does, it should endorse those in the GOP who are America First MAGA, only run people in races where no one else stands for those principles. Most importantly, it should concentrate on local officials. We need to be represented on school boards, in clerk of courts offices, in state government etc.

The two party system is cancer. Needs to let the republican party die off while he builds new in a better part of town.
