Just wanted to say that I was there at the capitol. I'm a mild mannered patriot who felt injustice when no audit was conducted. I think it was perfectly reasonable for people to storm the capitol, given that no one was beating the crap out of cops or law enforcement. If you notice, patriots let 3 unarmed police leave the doorway before Ashley tried to climb through the window and was shot. Do you think domestic terrorists would give a damn about waiting for the cops to move? Why aren't there videos of patriots fighting police? To anyone who thinks the capitol takeover was unjustified I hope you recognize the truth.
I'll always believe it was justified. I truly believe it was our Boston Tea Party. Too bad even on our side so many are divided over it.
Patriots have always been good folk, even during the Boston Tea Party they destroyed nothing besides the tea and one padlock which was the personal property of the captain... that they promptly replaced.
I'm going to share a somewhat controversial view on events:
Let me start by saying, I am comfortable with violence. I agree with Jefferson that rebellion is as necessary to the political world as storms are to the physical. But one must be careful to understand the difference between rebellion and terrorism.
Back during the summer of riots, I shocked a friend when I said "Well, that finally gives them a sliver of legitimacy" in reply to them attacking the federal courthouse. Attacking government is rebellion. Attacking government is what we should do when we feel our government is unjust, tyrannical, and cannot be reformed via working within the system. In the same vein, I have zero problem with what happened on the 6th. People who were fed up with government attacked government. Rebellion is your right, plainly spelled out in the Delectation of Independence.
Where Patriots and BLM/Antifa diverge is in attacking people other than government. Now, in all conflict there is such a thing as collateral damage. It can be minimized, but is virtually impossible to eliminate. When collateral damage is your goal, as was the case with many of the riots over the summer, then you are attacking the citizens attempting to influence politics rather than attacking government to replace it. That is terrorism, and that shit needs to be put down hard and fast.
Do what you can to exhaust all peaceful solutions before you turn to violence. But when violence is the best of all remaining solutions, strike hard, fast, decisively, and do what you can to minimize collateral damage. Endeavor to be a Rebel, not a terrorist.
We are entering dangerous times. Take the lessons above to heart. Pray that violence does not become the best of all remaining solutions; hope for a way to avoid it. But prepare for it, as sometimes a forest fire is necessary to allow health to return.

They've made peaceful revolution impossible. I don't understand why anyone was surprised at the response.
