Never talk to the police/fbi about anything without a lawyer present. Someone posted a video on here just last week that explains why. It doesn't matter how innocent you truly are. Their job is to prosecute. Your job is to not incriminate yourself. They are very, very good and finding ways to nail you to the wall. You are not very, very good and keeping that from happening. Don't talk. Always plead the 5th. The idea that pleading the 5th makes you seem guilty is a load of crap. Use the 4th as well. They have no right to be on your property without a warrant. Tell them to get a warrant and come back. Make them do the paperwork. When they come back, refer them to your attorney (or ask to have one present)

Yes, you seriously can invoke your civil rights when dealing with the police. Invoking civil rights, like the right to not be compelled to be a witness against yourself, i.e. the right to remain silent, is not an admission of anything (just watch a few congressional hearings). If they are there to arrest you they would have already done it no questions asked. If they are not there to arrest you just tell them to be on their way.
