Why are the nameservers hosted through cloudflare and not epik?

Doesn't this pose a higher risk of shutdown?

As always, we're nimble and can recover quickly in case of emergency.

Exactly -- Took them a week to even get a page up that said they were having issues.

honestly, I feel bad for Bongino who invested in that site. It doesn't seem like the guy really knew what he was doing. Or he was in over his head. Talking about Matze, not Bongino.

They deffo got caught flat-footed. As soon as the move over started, they should have known that they were going to be taken down and started working on the move straight away.

What is it that they say about those who don't know history? Apparently that applies to "recent history" as well.

Spreading the risk over multiple providers is always a good idea. Especially DNS should be separated from the hosting company.

Cloudflare also has a top of the line CDN and DDoS protection, and because of their proxy service IP addresses can be hidden in both directions, i.e you can't see the origin IP, and the origin might not see your IP (typically not the case but it's possible).

Cloudflare has shut down two sites for political reasons, 8kun and the neonazi site, and still runs Gab. How many has Epik shut down?
