If it weren't legit your login wouldn't have worked, or would work with a fake password.

The communities bit is an oversight, thanks for pointing it out, we'll fix it.

What if we logged in with our real password BEFORE reading all that about using a fake password the first time.

How would we know that we aren't compromised already?

At some point you just don't know. Not doing anything illegal should compensate for that though, probably.

Yeah, there's apps for that shit elsewhere. This is a political meeting place for the lawful and peaceful exchange of dank memes.

Just my take, obviously u/Doggos can probably answer this better, but I believe if any password would've have been accepted, and you have to login again, it means it's probably a new/different database, your likes, comments, etc would all be gone (since they don't have the old DB to recreate that), essentially you'd be like a new user, that's what I gather, it would be that someone has recreated the UI and backend using the old domain but they'd have to be using a new DB which is why the password login entry would be required again (also this does not apply if you clear your cache, you might need to re-enter your PW if you do but again u/Doggos probably can answer that better too)

Posts/comments could be recreated by a diligent malicious actor who scraped the old version of the site.

Login session tokens would be impossible to recreate.

Basically a simplified version of the login process is this:

  • You go to a website and log in with username and password, so in my case peterstrzoked and bigmikescock9000
  • server checks my username and password against the user database, and assigns a session token to my record in the database, say abc123.
  • that token (abc123) is sent to my browser and saved as a cookie on my computer, and whenever I request a page on this site, it gets sent to the server with my page request.

Only the original database knows what my session cookie is, so if I tried to load a page on the fake site, it wouldn’t know which user I’m supposed to be and it would need me to log in again.

Clearing your cookies (not necessarily your cache) would log you out too, because the session cookie gets cleared.

That’s just a watered down explanation of the process, but that’s the gist of it. Without access to the old database there is no way for a new site to know what logged in user you are (other than if they were in a position to intercept traffic on the old site through some kind of mitm attack)

I can think of a few different ways to make it work. I really don't see how logins getting reset is a requirement. Its not. Why lie?

Why is thedonald.space the only backup that works? the others do not redirect here.

They did last I checked. Outside of the .one, which is a no go anymore.

To be fair, if the server was hijacked, all passwords would be hijacked as well and would not require a re-login. If this was in the planning early on, before mentions of the Patriot Party (as was stated in a previous post), this should have been announced early on too. Yalls most recent posts call the guy a backstabber, with no mention as to why yall think that other than to say you "don't know what he might do". That's a far stretch from a backstabber. Yall mentioned he went MIA, how do you know he's even still alive? And if the owner of this site was worried for their safety, what does that say about the rest of us posting here?

We didn't want to attack the rogue individual. We just wanted to move on without provoking him to redirect. Unfortunately, he did it anyway.

Redirecting... TO WHAT? That's what we're asking. Currently, it redirects to Patriot.win. What yall are saying doesn't add up at all.

The old owner did a YouTube video interview two days ago... he’s obviously not scared. Something else is going on

ChickNorris 6 points ago +6 / -0

well, he did an interview with Adam Crigler here: https://youtu.be/SJCugtAd6pg

So, he's alive. And if he's worried about his safety why do a live interview? With his name.

It actually is kind of suspicious. It's happening the day after the inauguration, and shortly before that, the discord was shut down. Obviously those who knew the mods would be able to verify their voices through discord, but now discord the discord is gone.

Although someone said the old TD channel was still up, so has anyone heard the mods speak since the TD Discord was taken down?
