Do you have any idea how long the other moderator that owned T_D was compromised for? It seems as if he dislikes us, not that he is just moving on because of security for his family or whatever?
I appreciate the response, but with all due respect it didn’t really answer my question? (Unless I am misreading)... Is it possible he gave access to our information to third party bad-actors for quite a long time, before you became aware of him being compromised? Thanks again
the domain name is completely disconnected from the backend - owning the domain basically means all he has access to is the ability to direct the domain name servers to whatever website he wants. Think of owning the domain as like owning the sign outside of a store but not having the keys to the store itself.

It's a question they can't answer. They don't know if or for how long he has been compromised. They can only answer with the strange behavior they've seen and how long ago that started.
Mods feel free to correct me here but I think I understand his question and can give some insight.
The most important point is this: **Owning a domain name does not imply owning the content. **
The content MAY be owned/controlled by the same person/entity, but in this case apparently wasn't.
When you own a domain name, you can tell it where to go.
But in this case, the where it goes was always under control of "good" peeps.
As a simple example I could buy the domain "pencebetrayedthecountry.com" and have it redirect to a history channel documentary about circuses. I don't own the history channel content, I dont have any control over it, yet because I own the name, I can send traffic wherever I like.
The No Agenda show does this all the time, they'll buy current event domain names and redirect it to the show domain, and listeners have been doing the same, for years. You could buy "BidenHasDementia.com" and redirect it to here.
So it was never NOT compromised. You know you guys can register a domain in mere seconds.. Why did "a rush to publish" cause you guys to make such a fatal, rookie error? Also, what was the decision, out of everyone, to have him host? Why not the head developer?
Sincere, yet precise questions from a skeptical developer pede who has been here since 2016. My job as a web developer keeps me skeptical on these kind of things

Thanks fellas
We've been trying to get the domain from him since pretty much launch day.

I don't believe he's ever been compromised by outside forces. Greed and vanity, perhaps.
And he's never had any access to any user information beyond what everyone else (publicly available posts) can see. Hell, neither do I.
Cool thank you from one “man” to another, god bless you!
So who exactly does?

Makes sense, thanks.

Hope this makes sense.

It does, thanks!
Think of a domain name more like a mailing address, and the server is the house.
It points to the house, but it isn't the house. It's not even the mailbox. It's just the #s on it.

Why?
Was he though? I thought it was just because he was being harassed
