voat ending was bullshit, putitout didn't even create the site, it was handed to him when previous owner no longer had time to deal with it. and instead of passing it down again or allowing anyone to help with funds he just closes up shop while his own site (poal?) is running just fine >.>
The mods have been open about funding the platform on their own. Even made some sticky posts about how they won't accept financial help either.
Getting dependent upon others for money is a slippery slope.
Even if its with small donations, growing beyond our means would result in a payment processor boycott would fuck us.
Depending upon a few larger investors is obviously even worse.
