Not sure, he was an old Korean war vet. Only guy in the whole neighborhood that had a real flag pole. There wasnt a day when he wasn't out there at dawn putting it up. Even when he couldn't walk anymore he'd either wheel himself over or ride his john deer mower over to it and put it up. When it didnt go up one morning the whole neighborhood knew something was wrong. Sure enough he had died in his sleep the night before. He would teach the neighborhood kids how to fold it properly and every 4th of july he'd tell stories from the founding father's era to the local kids. Put on a little show and everything. He was our very own mr. Rogers.
