I thought Samuel Adams organized the Boston Tea Party?? btw, Ben Franklin and John Adams both condemned the Boston Tea Party of 1773. Paul Revere was warning about Lexington and Concord and that was an entirely different matter. The British were literally going house to house in those towns to find all the weapons and incriminating documents they could, against both American law and English Common Law.
I don't have a knee jerk reaction against violence but we're also not living in Revolutionary War era either and yes, most people, prefer peace. Trying to get an uprising is just going to result in more and more clashes and it far from clear that it's going to do any good at all.
Abraham Lincoln didn't start the Civil War and neither did George Washington start the Revolutionary War.
