It just seems odd to me to accuse a rogue mod of being rogue yet the "rogue" mod allowed the website administrators to put a page under the domain they control to create a page that redirects to the patriots.win URL. I think I'll just reach out directly to said "rogue" mod and get both sides of the story. This concerns our safety and all of our families.
The "rogue" mod could have set different nameservers other than those of epik at any point, and they could have done so after the redirect was put in place. I just want more transparency and explanation as to the security that concerns US, that is all.
There's 2 ways you can redirect a website to a new domain. You can do it through domain servers or you can implement a code through the host. The DNS being changed wouldn't have brought up a redirection page. I've done both methods & it really does look like the mods w/ access to the host just set up the index to redirect to their new URL. Then the mod w/ access to the domain caught on.
Yeah my point was that if they set up a redirect on the server itself then the rogue mod would notice and change the DNS configuration...and it turns out that's exactly what happened. :( I miss the old domain.
I work with websites all the time.
They clearly got the host side to redirect, not the DNS.
