To some degree, sure. But it's mainly because they believe nonsense about us that has no basis in fact. They not only believe that we are racist, homophobic, xenophobic, sexist, puritans, blah blah blah - but want to believe it. So they continue to build straw men unjustly bearing our names so they can unleash all their 'righteous' fury upon them. It's sheer narcissism and intellectual sloth.
