This honestly should be stickied. I've seen it posted several times already but the point is beyond valid - it's paramount: you need to use some basic critical thinking skills.

I always start with Occam's Razor. It doesn't mean I automatically discount every proposal out there, but I always assume that simplest option is the most likely.

People are so desperate that they'll believe anything at the first mention. Like the whole 'buy gold now! The fed is actually owned by banks and prints whenever it wants and blah blah blah!"

Remember this gem from back in 2010?

https://youtu.be/mII9NZ8MMVM

This this was super popular, spread on facebook like wild fire and was a massive source of getting people motivated to join either the Tea Party movement protests and the Wallstreet protests.

There's just one problem - it's way fucking wrong. It gets almost every major detail wrong.

Yet no one fact checked anything.

Maybe this is why I'm just not a religious guy? I try not to get suckered in by emotions. I judge all leaders harshly, ESPECIALLY charismatic ones (they're the most dangerous). But clearly we have a problem as a people - too many of us want a savior. Too many of us want a silver bullet. Too many of us want a Disney Fairy Tale.

Sorry, that's not how it works. That's not how it should work. There's no 'pray your way' out of this. There's no 'hero coming' to save us all.

WE are the bulwark for the future revolution! We must be rational, but passionate. Patient, but decisive. Adaptable, but persistent.

I hope most have learned their lesson.

Do not be deceived by false prophets, Pedes.

The old adage works here, too - "if it's too good to be true, it probably is".

Prayer isn't (or shouldn't be) a 'save me from the mess we made!' attitude. It's about asking for wisdom and strength. It's about being humble bc humans are sheep-like.

The silver bullet is wishful thinking which has been encouraged by the lottery, pastors saying Jesus is coming soon and we should abdicate caring for our neighbors, etc. We didn't start as a nation that saw money as the answer to everything, but that's where we are now. We have much bigger problems than in the past - military-industrial complex, government-medical complex, agribusiness complex. These cannot be fought by the common man, except by becoming as self-sufficient as possible. Many people now are lazy and think the lottery will give them power over what they cannot control. Of course, reality happens to them too.

The traitors care about money and themselves, not honor, respect, or love. There is little good moral fiber in our leadership in all institutions. This much evil will not stand under trial. It will diffuse into fingerpointing and screaming. Then 'fend for yourself' for all.

Thank you for posting this. Still on the Trump train and always will be, but I think we all need to watch this.

The truth often hurts, but what doesn't kill us, will make us stronger.
