Here me out. I love the mods. I've been a part of TheDonald since our reddit days. But the past four years has taught me to be skeptical.
First, the mods doggos and shadowman3001 have been GREAT mods. But I am skeptical towards the latest change.
YOUTUBE search "interview with thedonald.win owner". (Can't post here because posts with his name are censored for good reason). Watch the video, even the first few minutes, and tell me if you think he deserves the title of "traitor" that everyone is now placing on him.
Furthermore, I wholeheartedly support the mods if what they did was good, but it seems this whole scenario happened because they left him FIRST because they assumed he would backstab them. If they had solid evidence that he would backstab them, I'm behind them 100%, but if it's not, then I have serious reason to be skeptical. And I don't consider sole ownership of the site to be evidence of backstabbing, rather protection against outside influence.
I understand there was the WSJ issue but I've read (from posts on TD) that he claimed he was misrepresented. No idea what is true.
To reiterate, I LOVE OUR BEAUTIFUL MODS, but the last 4 years has taught me to never get complacent. Just wish the owner could put out his side of the story.
Exactly. Been trying to ask simple questions that get nothing but dodgy responses. Meanwhile, random users here are giving me MORE feasible reasons than the mods themselves. I just think this was handled VERY poorly. All the red flags should have been listed in a stickied post right away. Not just "he's a rogue so we left".
Some of the mods answers to questions were my biggest red flags. It the authorities were taking over the site, they would have to come up with a somewhat believable cover story. That's all we have at the moment. I've spent more time here over the past few years than any other place on the net. But I do NOT trust this domain now. With the massive crack down on Trump supporters everywhere, the timing of this move is way sus. Everything about it is sus.
Yeah, just asking for transparency and getting very vague responses. Something like this deserves a sticky of all reasons (with specifics) to why the change.
