I love Gab and am supporting it, but I do think Nazi/racist shit should be removed. The problem is that the Left maliciously floods your platform with that stuff if you don't remove it. You can still have free speech while removing those sorts of bad-faith malicious attacks. It drives away normal people.
Where do you draw the line? What jokes are and aren't allowed? Is it racist to say black people are faster runners on average? There's a reason the first amendment is permisive and the line is drawn at actionable threats. It's a slippry slope, in the eyes of the left we are the racists.
Gab makes the first amendment mean something in the 21stC by allowing all legal speech. As Jefferson said it's a "tumultuous sea of liberty" not a "tranquil tyranny" like Reddit.
Sadly the first people to get banned are the first people to flock to a real free speech platform, but those people are being drowned out. They already have been greatly with waves of mass bannings.
I guess for me I would draw the line at the clear and obvious hateful racist posts. Especially if they seem to be part of an inorganic outside attack. Like if you see a whole bunch of the same racist post repeatedly posted, those should be deleted. Maybe the answer just needs to be controlling inorganic shill posting.
