Brave also tells you how many "creepy things" are trying to track you. I love that it calls them "creepy things."

Yea use Brave. Not only do I notice a substantial speed increase loading pages but it also blocks “creepy things” lol.

I used the DDG browser for a while and liked it. But then I read someone talking about some weird shady shit going on with them.

I installed Brave browser and it's pretty awesome. Still using DDG for the search engine but I think I'll keep the Brave browser for sure. Give it a try.

I've had Brave for a long while, but never fully made the switch until recently and I gotta say, it's definitely built for the user, instead of the provider. Really pleased.

I liked it except for the bookmarks-can't be sorted as you will.

As a digital marketer, I can tell you that multiple platforms are tracking you across multiple sites. It’s not nefarious on it’s surface as it’s businesses trying to track and market to users. However it does exist and it’s part of the reason I no longer use social media.

That's nefarious enough, consumerism's one of the biggest weapons against us.

I should say that the businesses aren’t trying to do anything wrong. A lot of my clients were mom and pop shops trying to keep up with Amazon.

Twitter (along with just about every other major site's) cookies follow you everywhere. Use a browser plugin like privacy badge or ghostery to block them all.

I do love me some Privacy Badger

That's nothing new. Google Analytics and Twitter cookies are on SO many sites, even ones that show no outward affiliation.

You may not know it, but most web-browsers have a wonderful thing called Developer Mode (usually F12 or F11 in common browsers).

Turn on Dev Mode, go to the Network or Networking Tab. Refresh the page you are looking at and see what addresses pop up in the network tab. All sorts of assholes are trying to secretly slip one in.

What do you fine folks think of Opera? That's what I use nowadays, and it thankfully has a similar function to block trackers.

Seriously, to think Twitter was tracking me all this time and I never noticed...

Get a raspberry pi, install nextdns or pi hole on it, connect to your network. Does a great job blocking alot of that tracking bullshit.
