GOP is dead to me.

They are irredeemable.

The two party system is basically a deal between democrats and republican uni-partyists to destroy and silence anyone who doesn't allow wholesale robbery of the people's tax dollars..

Trump learned the hard way about being an outsider.

32
CahalTheMad 32 points ago +33 / -1

Vote democrat and you get a democrat. Vote repub and you get a democrat. A third party, a REAL party, is LOOOOONG overdue.

14
AnEndgamePawn 14 points ago +15 / -1

Backstabbing Republicans were harder to deal with than Democrats. Time to see where allegiances actually lie. Only way to do that is with a new Party

58
CuckS1ayer 58 points ago +59 / -1

It isn't a third party. It is a second party alternative to the uniparty.

15
Hangemh1gh 15 points ago +15 / -0

10
CuzMerica 10 points ago +11 / -1

7
Kraznaya 7 points ago +8 / -1

Good perspective.

We're a one party state. A new party would just be the first real alternative.

26
ShadowyMrBlank 26 points ago +27 / -1

It's amazing to me that they're still loyal to that fucking party, after everything they've done to both Trump and us. Fuck them forever. They slit their own throat; now let them bleed to death.

-2
ObamasLooseButthole -2 points ago +2 / -4

It's not that people are loyal to the party, it's that forming a new party is almost a guaranteed death sentence for that party. Remember Teddy wanting to start a new party? Most don't because it was a very very shitty idea and died out after just a few elections.

18
Spez_Isacuck 18 points ago +18 / -0

Yeah not seeing a downside here. GOP deserves to die a quick and painful political death.

And we voters aren’t killing it off. The GOP committed sepuku. Piss on them.

-1
ObamasLooseButthole -1 points ago +2 / -3

I'm not talking about the Republican party dying. Any new party would go the way of the Bull Moose Party.

9
Spez_Isacuck 9 points ago +10 / -1

Nonsense. There was a time in the United States when the republan party didn’t exist and the Whigs were a thing.

The two-party system (if that was even actually a thing, we all know better now) is not healthy. Americans deserve choices.

3
ObamasLooseButthole 3 points ago +3 / -0

Our choices are vote or don't vote. Either way they'll put whatever choice they want in.

5
Spez_Isacuck 5 points ago +5 / -0

Currently, voting is meaningless pageantry anyway. And GOP is complicit in that fraud. At least moving to a third party deprives the uniparty of money and support.

1
Trumpsauce 1 point ago +1 / -0

The country has had two major parties since Washington's second term with a brief rising of the whigs which basically transitioned federalists into Lincoln Republicans. Jefferson and Madison were sowing the seeds of a two party system against Adams and Hamilton from almost day one, don't pretend the two party system is something new.

The uniparty on the other hand is decidedly new.

1
Spez_Isacuck 1 point ago +1 / -0

So we agree a new party is in order.

4
awooo 4 points ago +4 / -0

Remembering the Bull Moose party is what will keep the RINOs out of our new party. RINOs love safety, and they think the GOP is the safe option. This is the best reason to start a new party.

9

First: DESTROY THE GOP. Make it a smoldering wreck that can't pose any threat.

THEN we form the new party from the Ashes.

Maybe we use a Phoenix or something like that.

7
TurdFerguson 7 points ago +7 / -0

Exactly. The faster we agree on this the faster we get going on a new party.

prospektor 1 point ago +1 / -0

Totally delusional. Losing these 5% will already turn many more states blue.

6
OMAGALUL 6 points ago +6 / -0

Our problem isn't with the RNC platform, it's with the GOP establishment.

We need to remove cancer from the GOP while insisting on election reform.

That or 1776 are really the only reasonable pathways.

If the Patriot Party happens and they have a better platform, I'll be on board regardless, but it could end up backfiring.

7
Tronbot 7 points ago +7 / -0

We cleaned out the GOP during the 1994 Gingrich Revolution

Then we cleaned out the GOP during the 2010 Tea Party (where Paul Ryan got his start, yeah?)

Then we cleaned out the GOP during the 2016 MAGA movement (and got Gun-Grabbin' Dan Crenshaw, remember?)

So no, we're not going to 'clean house' every 5-10 years because the GOP swampifies everyone

2
OMAGALUL 2 points ago +2 / -0

What stops the Patriot Party from swampifying in the same way?

2
RallyinStJohnsWood 2 points ago +2 / -0

We cleaned out the GOP

That plainly never happened, or we wouldn't be in this fix.

We need every patriot who went to DC on Jan 6 to become a committeeman in their precinct.

Then we vote out every party official who failed to scream at the top of their lungs for Trump. All the way up to the national level.

Then we recruit only true Patriots to run in every local and state election, and that will work in red states. Then those reps get rid of the voting machines.

3
Spez_Isacuck 3 points ago +3 / -0

The patient has expired. No sense in trying to save McCain’s tumor.

5
SiBear117 5 points ago +5 / -0

Traditional conservatives keep ignoring that a signifigant portion of Trump supporters are not conservative or Republican.

4
JoePaco 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is a very good point.

Many of these voters that voted for Trump would usually not vote Republican. God forbid anything happens to Trump, but if he is not with us anymore, we would be losing these voters.

Starting a new party would grab attention from many of the moderate lefts and many others who wouldn't usually vote republican.

5
Gadsden 5 points ago +8 / -3

Who is "them?"

I have news for you, "them" is US.

If WE vet and primary Republicans with our patriots, we gain control of the republican party. Then we change the name to patriot party. THEN we gain a majority and vote away parties all together.

This is all based on the premise that voting matters, again.

3
NavyGuy 3 points ago +3 / -0

Nope. I'll have nothing to do with the GOP ever again. New party, term limits, fair elections. I'll accept nothing less. Fuck them all.

0
Gadsden 0 points ago +2 / -2

Then you'll likely accept nothing at all. I'm on your side and completely agree, I'm just a realist. You have to ha e representatives to get what you're wanting, and tons of Americans vote by party. R or D.

3
NavyGuy 3 points ago +3 / -0

I hear ya. I'm a realist too. And I realize we are fucked unless we make this happen. If we can't, oh well. Things will simply play out. History repeats. The innocent will die with the rest of us.

2
Spez_Isacuck 2 points ago +2 / -0

R is D.

D is R.

There is only one party. Pay fucking attention!

3
NavyGuy 3 points ago +3 / -0

Finkel is Einhorn is Finkel. Compromise and going along with the status quo is how we got here.

"The only way to win the game is not to play"

1
Gadsden 1 point ago +2 / -1

No, YOU pay attention. The republican party is OUR party. We already own it, we just need to take control.

It's ours for the taking, especially now. Why waste money and effort building a new party with zero resources, when we can hostile takeover the one we've got and be years ahead of the game?

Then we can rename it, if we want.

5
NavyGuy 5 points ago +5 / -0

If you honestly think the Republican party is our party you are either delusional or not paying attention. They're all bought and paid for.

The last 6 years was the best attempt at taking control of, and, reforming the GOP. Clearly that isn't they way.

The plurality of conservatives feel the way I do. Get on board and help or keep voting for the people with an "R" next to their name and try not to flinch when they keep sliding their cock up your ass with a smile while whispering "shhhhhhhh... just let it happen, I'm on your side remember? " in your ear.

4
purepepelegends 4 points ago +4 / -0

It was a bad idea 4 months ago... but now, it's an absolute necessity. GOP must crumble, they will merge with the democrat party as they fall to 3rd place behind the Patriot party.

4
bluedevilga 4 points ago +5 / -1

The two party names: Patriots, Government. Two opposing systems.

4
PropagandaWizard1984 4 points ago +5 / -1

It is not "splitting the GOP" it is taking away a large chunk of the Uniparty. The Dems and the RINO's are the same party. A party of crime, corruption, and cowardice.

3

3
Fabius 3 points ago +3 / -0

DEMOCRATS = REPUBLICANS

2
Theldron 2 points ago +3 / -1

God forbid someone tell you something outside your echo chamber. Remember we aren't the left, we should welcome differing thoughts.

It's a NECESSARY step, but you have to realize how painful it will be. There will be a transition period of hell. There is a high chance we spend years with the leftists winning power until it turns. Hell, look at libertarians. Theyve been trying for years to get federal funding.

It's not that it can't be done, it can, but it will be painful. So if you actually want to help make the Patriot party a thing, win them over. Don't tell them to go fuck themselves.

3
Michigirl 3 points ago +3 / -0

Bongino did a show on it last night or the night before. Our system isn't set up to accept more than two parties. The states are winner take all, most of them, anyway. With that being said, until something changes with voter fraud, it's really not going to matter.

I might be the only one saying this but I'll do it any way.

You have to differentiate the scumbag politicians from the party that they currently control. The GOP is a party, and parties go through periodic realignments.

If you take control of the parties, then you get to determine how the party realigns. You get all of the perks that go with it - party infrastructure, internal organization, mobilization methods, funding, broad name recognition, and perhaps most importantly - a track record, which reassures people that you can win.

If you want to start a new party (and I'm sympathetic to that), then you will need to build all of these things mostly from scratch, you will need to do it very quickly, and you will need to do it with both sides of the uniparty actively working against you. You don't think they'll sink to using dirty tricks to keep your new party from growing? Do you think they'll allow your candidate to step on the debate stage if they have even an outside chance of winning? You will need to convince people to leave a party that can occasionally win for a party that has never won.

"But there are millions of us."

I know. But the same can be said for the Libertarian Party, and they've been around for almost half a century, and yet the best they can do is win a handful state congress races. Down ballot beneath Team Red and Team Blue, it's a desert of hopeless parties that all believe that they can be the one that destroys the two-party paradigm. Like it or not, Trump would not have won if he had somehow run as the Libertarian or Reform Party candidate in 2016. He used the GOP's vast resources.

"But Trump has 75 million people ready to go."

That's optimistic. The sad truth is that many of the people who voted for him are not politically engaged. That's not to say that they're ignorant or stupid, but it means that they are unlikely to follow you to your new party. At best, a new party would siphon off about 30 million voters from the GOP in 2024. That's no small feat, but it also guarantees that Harris gets another 4 years in office.

"But Trump would be leading this new party."

Great. And who else? Trump can't run or represent an entire party by himself, and not every Matt Gaetz or Paul Gosar will be willing to join a party and risk losing what little power they currently have. Trump is already in his 70s, and although his enthusiasm and energy might not suggest it, being the POTUS does a number on your health. What happens to the Patriot Party when he passes away? Who takes up the torch as the ideological leader, who runs for office, and how many will lose interest and float back to the GOP?

Let's try an analogy. The house we're sitting in is old and falling apart structurally, but the electrical and plumbing work are fine. Would you rather tear the entire thing down and spend months rebuilding it from scratch, or would you rather fix what you have, while keeping the intact electrical and plumbing work?

I'm not telling you to be content with what the GOP currently is, or to sit around and do nothing. Quite the opposite. We need to work triple-overtime to take back control of it from within. We should be forcing the Mitt Romneys and Liz Cheneys into political exile, not the other way around.

2
awooo 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's optimistic. The sad truth is that many of the people who voted for him are not politically engaged.

GTFO with that blackpill doomer bullshit. Trump rallies spontaneously erupted all through 2020 whether Trump showed up or not. Boat rallies. Car rallies. In the middle of Covid no less.

New party isn't the problem. The rigged election process is the problem. Election integrity has to be restored if anything is going to work. If everyone in the swing stages REGISTERS UNDER A NEW PARTY, that might actually motivate those fucking red legislatures to do something before they are voted out by the rigged process.

1
Hussar 1 point ago +1 / -0

If I were trying to blackpill you, I'd be telling you to do nothing at all because nothing matters anymore, which I didn't.

The rallies and displays of support that you saw were far more impressive than anything that Biden could scrape together, but these were people that form the core of Trump's base. That's a large base, but there are many millions of people outside of that core who don't follow the news that closely, and don't involve themselves in politics until election day arrives, and then they vote for whichever party they've historically supported. Look at the polls where Republicans are asked if the election was compromised. Somehow, there are still Republicans that say that it wasn't. They are the ones you need to convince to leave the GOP.

Taking over the GOP and turning its vast resources to our benefit sounds far easier than starting from scratch and hoping that we have historically unprecedented success as a modern 3rd party.

Look at what the far left (e.g. Occasional-Cortex, Omar, and Tlaib) is doing. They aren't starting a new party, they're trying to turn what used to be the party of JFK and Jim Webb into the party of "Democratic Socialism".

2
Fabius 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don't care if Democrats take control of every motherfucking part of this country. I just want to see the GOP burn for their betrayal. That's my goal now.

I'm never voting GOP again. I don't give a fuck who runs or what they say.

1
Hussar 1 point ago +1 / -0

"I don't care if Democrats take control of every ***** part of this country" So instead of retaking the party, we're going to spend years fighting an uphill battle to build something new from scratch, and during that time we and our children will see even more abortion restrictions removed, more taxes, more "drag queen story hour", and more unnecessary wars. You're cool with that?

2

Yesterday, Bongino laid out a good case for not going 3rd party. His point was that the GOP may be a flaming dumpster fire, but it still has a dumpster. Get involved and change it from within using the dumpster's financing and infrastructure.

2
Fabius 2 points ago +2 / -0

Go for it.

You and Bongo can "vote" forever. I do not forget. Nor do I forgive. I was betrayed. My betrayers will not win while Trump loses.

I will watch it all burn before I vote Republican ever again. There is no difference between R and D. Get that through your fucking heads and it will all make sense.

2
NoFucks2Give 2 points ago +2 / -0

Bongino says it is a bad idea. Because we are not a parliamentary system of proportional representation. Winner takes all.

On the plus side for him though, he also has some leaning towards some kind of soft secession.

My take is fuck 3rd party and don’t give mealy-mouth ideas about some type of soft secession.
Push for HARD SECESSION.

2
Fabius 2 points ago +2 / -0

Secession is the only way forward. The country is gone. The sooner you accept that, the sooner we can rebuild.

2

1
The_One_True_Fett 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why would I ever vote for the GOP? I voted for the democrats 15 years ago.

They had sensible immigration policies and hadnt quite gone to far on gun control for me ... (this was prior to my current stance on that... any law is an infringement imo now) and they weren't crazy with taxes and wanted to defend America and bring Al Queda down alongside Bush. Oh, and also voting for a wall.

But I digress. The GOP represents none of my interests, they claim to be constitutionalists... they are not. I could make a really long list of things they claim, but never do. They lie to my face. They do NOT represent me or my interests in any way.

Trump had many ideas and plans that seemed to align with what I would want from out government, so I voted for who he told me to. Now Trump is gone and I will vote for Mickey fuckin Mouse before I vote for a single Democrat or Republican (save for Cruz or Gaetz)

Rollout the Patriot Party and you'll have my vote, and my family's.

The GOP is split, now. Split between patriots/America First folks, and low information swamp voters. The Democratic party is in a similar position, as a lot of them want nothing more to do with the DNC.

Just like the Republican party came from people who split from the DNC and the Whigs, the Patriot Party could come from DNC and RNC.

1
Redhatrevolution 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fuck the Republican party. And Fuck you for trying to keep them together.

1
Avenatti2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

Will a new party get to 270 votes? Probably not. Will a new party have a chance vs rampant voting fraud? Probably not. Will a new party give people pride to vote instead of holding their nose picking the person they think will screw them just a little less than the other? YES

Added bonus that the GOP will be split and they will get extra fucked for being the backstabbing pieces of shit they are

2
RentedMule 2 points ago +2 / -0

Here's an interesting thought. We've seen that there are 70-80 million (or more) people fed up with the current system. If you can create a party that appeals to these people, plus can capture a sizable portion of the center (remember, the Dems have essentially abandoned the working class), what if they capture enough votes so that neither the Democrats or Republican even come close to getting 270 electoral votes?

1
Avenatti2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

Then it goes to house electors to decide. There is 0% chance they pick a 3rd party.

2
RentedMule 2 points ago +2 / -0

True. But if you can get a third party's foot on the door, maybe you can set up a situation where no party has a majority in congress. That would force them to form coalitions. And if done right, maybe you can force the democrats down to a smaller and smaller minority, down to the point where they no longer matter.

1
Priopism 1 point ago +1 / -0

The GOP, because of their own stupidity and/or treason, will never be more than 49% in congress again. And a congress with 49% or less GOP may as well be 0% GOP. They are forever irrelevant and anyone that doesn’t understand that can GO FUCK THEMSELVES.

1
prospektor 1 point ago +2 / -1

It's stupid and delusional. You have no idea how much work it is to form a new party and build up an infrastructure. Transforming the GOP is a viable path, look at the likes of Boebert and Hawley. We were in the process of winning it over, and now some butthurt people want to throw it all away like little children throwing a tantrum. Same with Tucker and Fox. We are in a fucking war and we need all the resources we can get to fight the enemy, throwing everything away while diving head first into the purity spiral isn't helping one bit.

You wanna hear the bitter truth why the Dems won (apart from the fraud, yadda yadda yadda)? Because they managed to keep the Green Party off the ballot in key states like PA. Jill Stein handed Trump the win in 2016, and this time around the Dems sued them off the ballots and sabotaged them wherever they could.

So what would happen with the shiny new party? Even if you managed to get 95% of the GOP voters, as some people here assume, it wouldn't be enough. The 5% remaining with the GOP would be killing you and the Dems would win in a gigantic landslide.

Just being realistic here. It's suicide, at least as long as the election system in the US isn't completely reformed to grant smaller parties representation, like in European states. Then coalitions could be formed and have an actual majority together.

1
Toobin247 1 point ago +3 / -2

There should be both maybe. MAGA Republicans and Patriot party candidates. Either way push out the RINOS and the swamp. If the MAGA republicans can’t play nice then fuck em.

2
CA445 2 points ago +2 / -0

That provides an interesting thought experiment:

Stay republican to vote in the republican primary to pick the most MAGA candidate, but with plans to vote for the Patriot Party candidate in the general. Then hope that whoever is behind will endorse the other and drop out. Then get MAGA(R) or Patriot. Win-Win -or- Vote in the republican primary to pick the most unlikeable candidate, so that there is no competition for our Patriot Party candidate. Same idea could be done as a democrat. Or even better, half of us register dem and half rep just to get terrible general election candidates for both parties. Win-Win -or- Everyone leave the republican party, sue them for misinformation with fundraising in this last election cycle, and go back to a two party system (Patriots vs dems). Win-Win
