It's all good, I'm well hated by my former hall (IBEW 1141) for taking the free education and leaving. The bennies were nice but I couldn't justify giving away money to an organization that supports the Democrat party. I had a union member come on to one of my jobs to harass me one day and had to chase him off with a pair of Kleins ready to whack em upside the head!
I was in a union and walked out of a meeting after tearing up my union card after they told us to vote NDP (Canadian here, they're heavily pro labour party and want to nationalize everything that makes a profit here and subsidize everything that doesn't). I was going to school for engineering anyway, they still send me bills for dues I owe, I draw dicks on them and write "stay the fuck out of politics, it's not your business to take my money and buy ads for the party that wants to destroy our oil industry, the lifeblood of this province."
