The craziest part about Dr. Ben Carson’s story is that his mother was illiterate. Think about that. In one generation you go from not even being able to read or write, to being educated enough to be able to operate on people’s brains.

It's what America used to be. My father dropped out before high school, my mother was effectively an orphan by 16. Went on to get a B. S. and M.S, real ones not sjw nonsense, from really good schools and rise to the upper middle class after growing up in a partially finished basement and sometimes worse conditions.

Used to be a place that is you had goals you could reach them. Not sure it's that way anymore...
