It doesnt work only if the new party cant attract the moderate voters from both dem and rep parties. It could work, but it would take several election cycles.

Trust the plan! We can retake the Republican party!

Yeah, right. See the Tea Party. Trump. See how they treated him in the Primaries. And how they treated him after November 2020. The GOP are spineless cucks who will never change and Conservatives are going to leave them whether or not there is a Patriot Party.

I mean seriously. 19% congressional approval rating. 19% !! And you don't think conservatives are looking for the door?

You still trust the GOP after Trump won and they had a super-majority and DID NOTHING? Still believe you can change them after trying for fifty years? GOOD LUCK. They are USING YOU. They will shut any "Tea Party" "Patriot Party" candidates down faster than you can say "whoops! I trusted the GOP again!".

The GOP has been using it's voters for years. Conning them into power by looking weak and when in power they do nothing. All while our society slowly creeps to the left faster and faster.

A new party would not split the voter base. The GOP and their inaction already did that. A new party would bring additional voters to a real, meaningful conservative cause, because it would actually represent what they believed.

In many of the places that a Patriot Party would be running, they would not even be on the ticket with a Democrat. Even if a third party could split the vote - how the fuck do you split that ticket?

Good luck finding a legitimate alternative, though. We are all ears.

successful at being a clown show?

otherwise define success because most people would qualify it as much higher than 3% for a presidential candidate

Personally I'm in the gut reno the gop camp.

At the same time if the energy in the movement is behind starting a new party and the bush / mccain / romney base don't see the light yet then fk em. We'll find new voters. Out with the old in with the new.

ha yeah cause the traditional GOP base and messaging really delivered in the past

10mm brand new voters after a swipe of potato joes pen, and the clock quickly catching up to the traditional gop's base

out with the old in with the new

Yeah, I wish forming a new party could be the solution. The duopoly of the Dems and Repubs have cemented their hold on the political system, crippling the chances of outside parties to secure any real momentum. Just ask the Green Party or the Libertarians. The wiser move is to primary Republicans who don’t defend or respect the Constitution.
