why ? on page 3 they accuse him of lying about election fraud. he now has a platform and a court room
Because he knows it's a sham. Participating in it makes it seem legitimate when it clearly isn't. He should dare them and if they convict him it will have a lot of great benefits: Trump would become a martyr, the Republicans would be forever destroyed and it might finally provoke conservatives to take action. If they don't convict, Trump's dare will become legendary and any Republicans who vote to convict will also irreparably harm the party. It is a win-win for the nation.
