I haven't watched tv on a regular basis in a loooong time.
One thing I have noticed, and I am curious if any of you have experienced this as well; When I talk to people that are liberal that still watch tv and the news regularly, I can tell they are brainwashed to the extreme, no exaggeration, almost every single time.Whenever I try to engage in conversation with them, not being aggressive at all, just talking and making sure I am being respectful while doing so, they still almost always seem to get over-defensive, and when presented with actual facts, they just shut down/ change the subject/ don't want to talk about it anymore.
Has anybody else here had a similar experience?
Yep, agree with everyone else. They keep repeating tautological mantras & then call for “moderation” of viewpoints when presented with hard facts. I know many intelligent folks, who chose not to think critically about what they’re told.
We now have an entire generation that was raised to believe that pure consensus of sources equates to truth. Yes, cite your source, but what good is it when all the sources just repeat talking points, that are “true because we say it’s true”? What happened to the skepticism of the Bush era; not believing the talking heads and questioning authority? Now it’s all just NPCs guzzling down the programming.
