No matter what I said prior, did not matter. It was Joes Treasury Secretary's statement about taxing unrealized capital gains. Only crazy people actually say things like this, whether or not it happens. He got that. Then I showed him a picture of the health secretary, and he just looked and said.... maybe I should have listened to you (fake chuckle).

Wtf is the point of paying into a 401k if they are gonna tax it every year. My company does a 10% contribution, I put in 5%. So they are gonna tax me on the total 15%, correct? Which means I'm making even less than if I opt out and just pay taxes on my regular salary, because of the additional 10%. Do I have that right?

Dont think it will pass, dont think it would affect 401ks, that would be a bridge too far, but who knows, they could say its white supremacy to have a 401K.

Or they will means test social security and just give it to those who "need it". Those who bothered to save in a 401k wouldn't be able to collect.

Who do you work for that they are paying 10%?

If I put in 5%, my company will chip in 4%...
