Only crazy people actually say things like this, whether or not it happens. He got that. I'm going to add that you want to get 3 to 4 landlords deep in history if possible.
The last landlord will always say the renter is great because they want them gone.

Yes. Never trust the current landlord. The better referral they give, likely the worse the tenant.
