Coronaviruses ARE one of the two virus types that causes the common cold, however, so it is accurate to say people are freaking out because of a cold.
Or, you know, the cold virus. Because the flu (influenza) isn't the same as a cold (coronaviruses and rhinoviruses).
Yeah but the flu has mysteriously disappeared completely in 2020, so obviously people with the flu are being called covid cases.
