Can I start paying state taxes in Texas (not a resident) instead of my Federal taxes?

There is no State income tax in Texas. But as a Texan I'd much rather pay State income tax than federal tax. I'd rather my money stay in Texas than go to the DC swamp.

Even in '16 on the Trump Train, I could never get over the eloquence and pro-family character of Cruz's tax plan: 0% on the first $30k, 10% after that

No fucking any income tax. Texas already has high other texas to account for money needed in the state. They should ban federal income tax.

Yeah, you totally have to look at total tax burden. Example: Missouri makes up in personal property taxes the slight edge it has on other taxes. Missouri taxes food. Taxman going to take his pound of flesh.
