It's time to flip to different platforms that you control. Break the revenue stream of big tech. Limit the ability of the government to arbitrarily surveil your family. If you have questions ask them. If you have suggestions make them. ~

Basis for signal being compromised? Argument for wire being better?

EDIT1 :: Wire looks really solid. Signal is suspect to be sure per Moxie due to design compromises but it seems like nothing definitive at the moment. Unless there’s something definitive I’m keeping it for now.

EDIT2 :: Added Mewe Social Media, Added PIA VPN

Nothing concrete about signal, other than they can be made to give alphabet agency their encryption algorithm, and I would suspect they already have.

Wouldn't be a problem unless you're on their shitlist

Nice thing about encryption is that unless they have your keys they don’t have your data. However, in this case a compromised app update could be used to compromise keys. It’s kind of the hazard of any app that is distributed through an App Store that can force update sadly. Also their decentralized architecture means central nodes are maintained and all metadata (who you’re talking to and when) is likely also being scraped (continuation of older NSA methodologies). This is true of most of the apps though some handle it better like Session which requires no identifying information and proxies your traffic en route to destination. Right now I am using Signal/Telegram/Session/Keybase and it’s working nicely.

Looks promising. I’m going to play with it for awhile before throwing it on the list.

I was told it is based on block chain technology so it cannot be censored or taken down. I don’t quite understand the details but thought I would share.

Yeah, definitely worth watching.
