Then learn the law. Driving is a service for compensation. Traveling is a fundamental human right. The right to travel using modern conveyance Had been upheld by every states Supreme Court. Just do your research and prepare your script. Police are trained to try to get you to slip up and use the wrong terms therefore forfeiting your rights.

This sounds like some sovereign citizens bullshit that the police will not tolerate. More so now that they've been empowered as the boot of an illegitimate government

They don't have to it takes 5 bucks and 5 minutes to file an appeal. Plenty of information out there. State Supreme Court will rule in your favor. Look into your states rulings on it. I have. But it takes time and effort to stand up for your rights witch most people don't want to do. Where do we draw the line some city's now require a license for bicycles. What next walking permits.

Relying on state supreme courts really went well for us this year.

So much truth it hurts

You're correct. It's sovereign citizen silliness. The Supreme Court has dealt with traveling vs. driving in several landmark cases.

Just don’t talk to the police.

I have the number for one of those traffic attorneys in my phone. Just dial it when pulled over and tell the cop I'm contacting my attorney now. Any interference in that is big time cop gets fired and lawsuits get filed. Friend did it and the cop just told him to watch his speed and walked away. They pray on your ignorance of the law. As soon as you get a lawyer the playing field gets leveled and they don't want to waist time on that. To many other fish to fry.

How does calling your attorney help in that situation? Aren’t they just going to write you a ticket and hand it to you? It’s not like the lawyer can prevent it.

Don't even actually have get ahold of one. Its just letting the cop think you have one and will use one. Remember 90 percent of the people he issues tickets to pay the fine without a fight. Knowing you will use an attorney means that he has to do way more paperwork and show up on court date prepared. I'm not saying you will not get a ticket. But cooperating but not rolling over will Make them think twice. No matter what the outcome it will tie the cop up doing paperwork he will have to record the entire stop to prepare for court. Ever noticed sometimes when a cop finishes a stop they stay there working on the computer and sometimes they take off right away. If somebody says see you in court they have to record the details of the stop.

Wouldn’t it be better to let them skimp on the paperwork and then when you go to court the lawyer can actually win for you? This doesn’t really make sense. Why even warm them so they can prepare?

A good lawyer will take care of it before court. Unless you are doing 20 + over the limit. No points no record. The idea is to make it not worth his time. One ticket that takes an hour or 3 that take 15 min. Witch would you choose. The thing is to be polite and corporate just make him think you have a friend or family that is a lawyer without actually stating it.

It really isn't any extra work to cite a driver who has a lawyer. It's extra expense for the driver, though, and possibly a nice overtime call-out for the cop.

I had a few dozen tickets contested with lawyers, and the driver was only acquitted once. She ended up spending $3000 dollars on a $242 cite. If she had been going less than 40 mph through that residential street, it would have cost her zero dollars.

she got ripped off. My forman got dwi reduced to littering for 1500.00 and it was his 2nd one.

Worked for a buddy of mine while I was in the truck. But he was only doing 10 over. Anything under 5 is considered a chicken ticket by cops. Worked with ex state trooper years ago he is the one who first gave that tip. Never needed it myself im the grampa driver everybody is cussing.

I never wrote a cite at less than 10 over the limit, and only rarely under 15 over. I'd tighten tolerances up a bit for residential areas with kids and bad conditions. On all moving violations, I wanted to be able to come into court and explain the hazard, not just the violation of the statute. If I wrote one for you, you had it coming.

Of course, that also meant that I was always being pestered for not writing enough cites. If I were going to cost somebody time, money, and whatever else, it was going to be because they were creating an unjustified risk to other people on the road. That said, I never once had a sergeant or lieutenant comment on the quality of my cites or on my near-perfect record in traffic court. I did get told, "You need to pick those numbers up," on a regular basis, though.

Are you speculating this is what they will start pushing, or is someone actually already pushing for this?

Go to Mexico. Come back by jumping the border (if you can). Change your name. Go to California. Get drivers license because you’re an illegal now. Apply for welfare. Done and done.

Husky 5 points ago +5 / -0

Can't I just SAY I hopped the border? Will my accent give me away?

No, the wall is laced with 5G nano tracer particles. They verify your wall jumping status at the DMV

I have never needed a drivers license to drive and only once when I was stopped by law enforcement.

2
Kendoextendo 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why do I need a license? You’re supposed to have car insurance too, yet people drive constantly without it and don’t face the consequences because they’re broke as shit.
