If one were to lie to them, say "Yes, you can count on my vote" and then behind the scenes vote for who you really want, especially locally, it would be more effective, especially since they would not have your contact info. The point is to build quietly, like Washington did. I am in no way saying support the GOP. I am simply saying don't identify yourself to them as angry Trump supporters, because the GOP and the DEMS will work together to have you put in prison, don't make it easy for them, that is all. The thing I was thinking about was that now Trump has no email list or anyway of contacting the 80 million. If everyone is busy raging at the GOP, we are losing ground. If the GOP knows that the base is really upset, they will do some psyop or another to get people distracted. To keep people focused, let the GOP think you're with them through silence. Reverse their tactics. Let them think you will stand beside them, and then don't. Elect local sheriffs and politicians into power that will arrest the corrupt officials.
