People confuse access to information and "knowing pop culture" with wisdom. The echo chambers on the internet today make us some of the dumbest people that have ever lived. At least back in the stone age people would at least trust their eyes; they wouldn't listen to a mother jones article and nod their head in agreement that tells them they're bigots for not wanting to date a very feminine penis.
