Reagan was hated until the attempted assassination made him a martyr and they botched his surgery giving him dementia. Then amnesty happened and they really loved him.

They put up with Reagan because they had leashes on him. Trump's wealth is what gave Trump more freedom than Reagan.
So, in this case because Trump’s wealth was inherited to him, but Reagan was in Hollywood and did other things, made Trump to be free of interests from Washington. Is that correct?
Reagan needed the favor of others, such as lobbyists. Trump didn't need the favor of others.

IMO, the major difference... Regan changed the swamp from DNC run to GOP run. Where Trump failed at changing agencies, Regan succeeded big time. It wasnt until Clinton's second term did he begin the slow process back to DNC controlled agencies (now they are all controlled). During the Regan years, if we use China=USSR analogy, the FBI would throw you in jail for some of the deals we see being made today. Now the FBI will throw you in jail if you dont capitulate to China and make deals. Regan scared the shit out of Dems for 30 years, so much so, that Clinton basically ran as a Republican. Even if you look at early Obama campaign in 2008, there was no gay marriage, he opposed, no gun registrations (he at least said he opposed), no amnesty for illegal immigrants (Obama said we would no longer have a country). This was all Regans doing.
So Reagan only switched the Swamp to GOP run, but Trump wanted to terminated it is what made them different from each other.
Thats one of the big things looking back in my opinion.
