Not if he has tenure.

There’s another video he posted a day or two ago, he was on Tucker. He basically said that he doesn’t have tenure and he knows it was dangerous to say something but someone had to stand up for the students.

Yeah, I'm sure the teacher's union will stand up for him.

If there was ever a Streisand Effect then there is also a Weinstein Effect. Dude is waaay more famous now than he ever would have been were it not for being a woke target.

I don't think college professors have any protections considering literally any schmuck can walk into a college professor position without any licenses or anything.

Thats not true. Now, there are many who teach at the university that don't have a PhD, but they use some other title like "instructor". Typically, to use the title "professor", one needs a PhD. However, most of these phds are not on the tenure track and typically have the prefix "adjunct" or "clinical" . Then there are those in the tenure track, and they can either be assistant professors", which are untenured, and "associate" or "full" professor" who do have tenure. Given how nice this guy's office is and that he has the balls to direct this at the president of the university, I am guessing he is tenured.

I can assure you most of the professors at my school do not have PHDs

The academic world is about as preoccupied with titles and ranks as a military. My last school I had a “lecturer” who was very bitter he would never have professor status even though he had a PhD and taught more sections than anybody else. Looked up compensation and he actually made more than everybody but the department chair.

University careers are often highly political and not the least bit transparent. There will be committees that make hiring and promotion choices and you will often just guess as to the process.

Now true brilliance and accomplishment can cut through, but not even then and not even in STEM. Men who ended up getting Nobel Prizes lived near poverty as assistants to senior faculty in the years after the Manhattan Project.

Now, the one way I know to cut through pc bs at schools $$$$$$$

You endow a chair and basically pick a decent man to occupy it. He picks his successor or there’s a small panel with explicit instructions (not foolproof over time) or if you have the coin you found something like the Hoover Institute or a Hillsdale or Ave Maria.
