I supported the Accord until I actually read it. Even back when I was a leftie still. Anybody on the left who truly believes that we need to address climate change should be against it too, because it does nothing to actually address it. It just costs taxpayers a shit ton of money.
The two biggest polluters, China and India, don’t even have to start complying until 2030, and that’s only if economic conditions allow it. Meaning it’s optional. And they can continue to ramp up their industrial pollution until then.
It also has no enforcement or oversight mechanisms. It’s like giving your teenager your credit card and telling them to “only use it in an emergency,” then later having to explain to them that a new PS5 isn’t an emergency.
So it’s basically treating China and India the same was Republicans treat democrats. We agree to rules and when the democrats ignore them, we just take it.
No, it's expressly written that there are no penalties for almost anyone unless they are self imposed. Most of the countries picked goals they would hit anyway without this agreement, and just got paid for it with our taxpayers dollars.
And yet every policy from minimum wage, regulations, environmental standards moves more to China where there are no worker protections, no environmental standards and regulations and no ability for us to see or know just how bad it is. Which is exactly why Mega corporations and Democrats have made such good bedfellows.
As an ex climate change junkie, I overly understand what it does and what it did when it was first signed. The easiest way to break it down is we spend $10 trillion in 10 years. Other, more polluting countries vow to spend $0 over 10 - 30 years. They were allowed to be part of this. This is an awful deal. There is no consequence for failure. It is at best an illusion that anyone is helping.
I know someone very well who does a lot of business in China. His Chinese business partners are constantly having to warn him about being too trusting with the Chinese business community and Chinese officials. He said it was a steep learning curve having to stifle a lot of habits he didn't even know were there as a result of being brought up in the US, like mutual trust, reciprocity, and generosity as a show of goodwill. The Chinese business culture is soulless and rapacious. To think that they would honor this agreement in any significant way shows how stupid our politicians are. It's the same thing as the Iran deal. Obama/Biden think that the Middle East is going to love us if we give them money and say things like Pockeestahn instead of Pakistan. Nope, they'll just take the money and use it to keep trying to kill us.
This should be the first (of many) challenges Texas makes. The president doesn't have the authority to unilaterally enter America into treaties with other countries. That Obama called it an "accord" doesn't change the fact that this is a treaty. When Trump "withdrew" (we shouldn't use that word, it's linguistic warfare as we were never a part of this illegal treaty) he failed by not making it clear that we were never a party to this treaty as it was never ratified by congress.
He understands the accords fine. His voters wanted it after being told it was bad that orange man was quitting it. This is a token he can give to them rather than including BLM Leaders in civil rights matters.
I find it unconstitutional for a President to unilaterally agree to an accord without the consent of Congress. I said the same thing with the Iran “handshake” deal.
But it’s bigger than just the pain this is going to inflict in our country. It shouldn’t be allowed because the Executive branch never had the power to enter into any agreement like this.
It’s yet another example of how the constitution just doesn’t matter, except when it is perverted to enrich the power of the ruling “class”.
Plus the United States emissions were impressively REDUCED under Trump's Administration, and we didn't even need to be a member of the globalist moneymaker sham Accord in order to do it.
Well, that's what happens when your climate adviser is a guy who entered a bicycle race, fell off the bike and broke his leg: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6iwfhh

Bingo
Or it's like me saying I'll stop drinking by 2050 but until then, rage on, because no one can punish me, except with strongly worded messages
If they were serious about "climate change" then they'd want to do everything they could to get manufacturing OUT of China.

This! I'm all for conservation. This isn't that.
He understands that it does whatever his CCP handlers want it to do, he just provides the signature.
And he only occasionally understands that.
Scott Adams is wrong. So very wrong.
The Paris Climate Accords is about funneling money from the West straight to China. This is one thing Joe Biden is perfectly on board with.

Unmitigated bullshit. He understands exactly what it does and he wants the destruction it will cause. Also fuck this effeminate boomer cuck.

Scott tick tocked like the rest of them and deserves none of our respect moving forward. Tick Tockers are worse than our enemies.
i'm tired of all the brainiacs completely missing the point of how evil operates.
The biggest deliberate misconception is that Biden can "rejoin" the Paris Accord by EO. Obama couldn't "join" them by EO and neither can Biden.

It actually means he does because it gives money to his Chinese owners.
Imagine if he could be made to answer tough live questions without earpiece and notes on the details of the Paris Agreement.
It would be priceless.
What does he understand?
Well going by Joe math, he gets ten percent of the deal which is many billions to India and China, so it's all good.
The fun part will be how his family will be able to access said cash when dementia Joe forgets what bitcoin account the cash went to :)
This is nothing but a covert plan to move v e wealth from the US to 3rd world countries. Namely China.
"It's for...cliemts...you know, the thing."
taken right out of cunt pelosis play book "GoTtA PaSs tHe BiLL tO SeE WhAtS iN tHe BiLL!!!"
Pedo Joe doesn’t understand how the thermostat in the White House works.
It has the word climate in it. Good enough for Biden!
