He's also the widower of Sharon Tate, brutally murdered while 8.5 months pregnant in 1969 by the followers of Charles Manson, subject of the recent fantasy adaptation by Quentin Tarantino ("Once Upon a Time in Hollywood").
Googled it briefly before I said anything, And I saw that he's a dual French/Polish citizen. And there was a news article saying the Polish supreme court ruled against extraditing him. IDK where he's living though.
I read in a biography of Polanski that it was after his wife was murdered so, that he first developed a taste for teenage girls; would watch them as they left high school. It was wrong what he did to her, however, she's "forgiven" him and has asked that the case be dropped. Hi is a genius filmmaker for sure, a pervert for sure too. He's pretty old now.
Roman Polanski is a real piece of shit. Of course, Hollywood fellates him every time an opportunity presents itself. Yeah, fine, his movies are great (Rosemary's Baby was fucking nuts), but he's still a huge piece of shit.
I heard that movie hasnt aged great. Just like production value-wise, but I never saw it. I don't think Carrie aged well. The infamous part with the blood prank comes off like slapstick to me. Oh no, it's gonna spill any second! Look out! They shouldnt even show the bucket until the last second as it happens.
He is totally disgusting. What he did is fucking gross. But there was a reason why he fled the US.
When he was in trial, there was a deal that his lawyers made with the judge. Polanski would plead guilty and they would give him I think a time served with like probation and shit. But he wasn’t going to jail. The judge presiding was trying to make a name for himself, and enjoyed being in the spotlight, and because of that was going to sentence Polanski to an actual jail term, which went against on what they had agreed.
So Polanski freaked out and hopped on a plane and fled to France. I’m not condoning what he did, because it was disgusting, but he was cheated in his court case.
He's no pedophile though. That girl was at a fucking party in the fucking villa of a Hollywood millionaire. She herself said she forgave Polanski and didn't want him to be prosecuted long ago.
Just watched The Pianist for the first time recently.
Fun fact, It's director is a fugitive from justice in the US where he's facing child molestation charges, But Poland won't extradite him.
I believe he lives in France?

I rented Rosemary's Baby as a teen and tried to watch it with friends because we wanted to watch a horror movie.
Didn't go well.
Are you saying drugging and raping a 13 year old girl makes you a piece of shit?! Janet Reno would like a word with you

Yep. But his movies are still great works. He should rot in hell and France should be ashamed they protect a pedophile, but his movies can stay.

uh, you better keep Poland's name out yer mouth!
It was a gay movie.
Is it good?
It is excellent and disturbing.
Thanks I’ll check it out
It’s like Revolutionary War version of Braveheart.
One of the best movies ever made for the WW2 time period.
Oof. Roman Polanski
I only watched half, too depressing
